LIFESTYLE SHOOT: CABEAU TRAVEL

Projects like these are exactly why we love what we do at Studio 9 Creatives. About a month or so ago we got a call from a friend who is now the Creative Director at Cabeau Travel Accessories. She had an idea for really cool project; A 2-Day lifestyle shoot to showcase the companies product in a fun, exciting and functional manner. We discussed a few ideas, concepts, locations and necessities and a few days later we received an email with all the details. Day 1 would take place at a really cool Boho Chic style house in Venice, California.  Day 2, my personal favorite, it took place at Jets and Props, in North Hollywood. Our crew consisted of some amazing models and professionals. So we had a really good vibes going in to this project and it shows in the final products.

Day 1: Venice

We loaded the van with all the equipment we needed and headed out to this amazing location. The house had tons of style and personality. It really felt the way the nice boutique hotels feel, which was exactly what we needed. Also since this house was located in Venice, we had access to the canals and the famous Venice Beach. Throughout this full day of shooting we took full advantage of all these great locations.

Day 2: Jets and Props, North Hollywood

As I stated before, this day was my absolute favorite. Jets and Props built us a 747 airplane stage that we were allowed to manipulate to our needs. This provided some really cool shot options and also some interesting challenges. The challenges are what made it my favorite day. Our client wanted the images to really feel as if you were on a flight and we took it head on. Tried a few different setups and finally honed in on the desired look and feel. We worked deep into the afternoon capturing great images. Something about blurring reality in images is what has always attracted me to advertising photography.

These images are being used ,mainly for web and print ads. It was a great honor to see them displayed in large format at a trade show in Las Vegas, Nevada. I really love these images and the way we were able to show our range in what we can produce here at, STUDIO 9 CREATIVES.

BIG SUR VIA HWY 1 : A Birthday Road Trip that changed our lives.

With an eventful year coming to close and a 35th Birthday that needed a good time, we decided to go on a Road Trip. Not just any road trip but one of those trips you dream about, you hear people mention in passing, you know. That iconic California Coastal drive up the beautiful Highway 1 (Pacific Coast Highway, PCH). It was my wife's birthday and we were ready to clear our minds and head off on an adventure.

We packed our bags, cameras, computers, camping gear and loaded the van. 15 minutes later we are on the side of the 110 freeway... out of gas. Well now we know its gonna be an adventure. We quickly handled that meanwhile laughing and anticipating our upcoming experiences. Before we knew it we were back on the road entering Highway 1 in Santa Monica. This is now the beginning of our 4 Day / 3 Night road trip up the California coast on our way to picturesque and legendary Big Sur.  We have read, dreamed, and talked about this trip for awhile but now was our time. We headed north as civilization seemed to fade away to endless curves and sandy beaches. As the warm sun washed over us and the urge to stop and explore pushed us we casually made our way up the coast stopping many times just to take it all in. This is LIFE. Life is for living. It’s point should be to create experiences and memories. Which is exactly what we did. We slept near lakes, had coffee near a noisy creek, woke up to breathtaking views and had dinners under a million stars.  These memories are worth millions to me and the crazy thing is you cannot buy them. They're PRICELESS.

SUPERCHARGED: 2016 MUSTANG

Anyone who knows me knows "I LOVE FAST CARS". Last Sunday we had the pleasure of shooting with this 700 HP Supercharged beast. The owner of this car didn't disappoint. There was about as much carbon on this Mustang, as an F1 car.  That may be an exaggeration but there is a lot of carbon throughout this ride. The supercharger under the hood, sounded like a turbo jet. The Forgestar wheels, Nitto tires, Brembo brakes and Feal suspension were the icing on the cake.

Meet Kaden Bradley. We recently had the pleasure of working with this very talented High School Basketball star. Kaden is currently 6'5" entering his senior year at Chico High School. His passion and love for this game is ever present on and off the court. We look forward to watching him have another standout season and even more success.

Eagle Marine Services: Benjamin Franklin

A week ago we got the call we've really been wanting since moving our office to Downtown Long Beach. Our friends over at Eagle Marine Services in the Port of Long Beach were going to being unloading and loading one of the biggest shipping container ships in the world; The CMA CGM Benjamin Franklin.
 Our project was to document all aspects of this monumental event with emphasis on the ship and the operations. This happened to be a very fun yet complex shoot just due to size of ship, many machines and personnel.
